What is LPG?
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), also known as autogas, is widespread in Europe, especially in countries such as the Netherlands, Poland and Italy. Local names include LPG, GPL or Autogas. It is often cheaper than petrol and diesel, making it attractive for long journeys. However, there are some points of attention for travellers: in some parking garages and tunnels, restrictions apply to LPG vehicles due to safety regulations. In addition, specific rules may apply per country. Filling stations are fairly well distributed, but less numerous than those for petrol and diesel.
